Also, I wonder if we'll ever get to see footage of Alegria in Beau Rivage.

I have an old trailer video from when the show was at Beau Rivage that shows some performance footage, but it's not that much. I'll see if I can find it, but you're really not missing anything. Other than no strong man, the show was about the same as you see on the DVD: Syncho Trapeze, Hoops (by Elena Lev), Fire/Knife Dance (by Isaac Samuela), Russian Bars, Fast Track, Contortion, and Aerial High Bar.

The solo contortion acts by each girl were sooooooo repetitive. Ironic because their duo act I would say is the best contortion routine of all time both in terms of technicality of their flexibility and balancing tricks and also the artistry and choreography.

La Nouba, Corteo, Delirium, Ovo, Quidam, Totem, Saltimbanco, Immortal, Amaluna.

Hey guys, does anyone know of any full live recordings of Algeria besides the 2001 official version? It's my favourite show and definitely a shame that Cirque retired it!

There are few on youtube that are split by act. I watched one filmed in Montpellier. Amateur Videos though.

Hey everyone! If you didn't know, I'm a huge Alegria fan, so much so that I bought the "Alegria 2" Japan DVD. While some of it is in Japanese, there is this cool interview with the creative director, cast info, long clips of the show and includes clips of all the acts! It even has footage of the slackwire act too! I'll gladly sell it to the highest paying bidder lol ;)

You see really excited, was it a very rare act to see or something?

This discipline might be tacky but here the presentation is so artistic. The music, choreographs, stage queues from the White Angels.

Tracker: Yes, Aerial Cube in Alegria is a rarity. Mikhail Matorin, who developed the routine, performed the act throughout Alegria's original North American Tour (1994-1995) and in Asia (1996). He went on to perform the routine in Mysere while Paul Bowler took over for the tour. Paul would perform cube throughout Europe (1997-1998), but the routine was taken out for Beau Rivage (beginning 1999) [Paul would end up replacing Mikhail in Mystere] and would not return until Alegria 2 in Japan (2004-2005). After this leg of the tour, the cube was out again. Once the show was converted to the arena format, an aerial cube act was included as an on-again-off-again act-in-rotation. But I think it was pretty rare to see it even then.

Colton, what about the discipline makes you think its tacky? Just curious. I will say it might not be the most impressive from an acrobatic sandpoint but the sheer artistry and beauty of it more than make up for it.

Not to mention how powerful Ibis is with Claudine's voice.

@Richasi - Wait, there was an Aerial Cube rotational act for the arena format? I didn't know that.

Wow, very interesting video! I'm not sure I cared very much for the act, but the choreography and the intensity are no joke. This made me miss the angels!

I wonder who the performer is in that video. I'm pretty sure one of my coaches did this discipline in Alegria at some point, but I'm also pretty sure this isn't him.

UPDATE: Yeah no he did Alegria in the 90's, not this leg of the tour.
