Dragone Productions

So over the years I've been keeping a close eye on Dragone, and watching his new personal productions come to life. I must say, I always have the same thought every single time I see videos for his new shows; "has Dragone gone mad?". All of Dragone's new productions are very over the top with set design and seem ridiculous. Every show encorporates water, heavy lighting, Machinery, and larger than life venues. I must admit, I personally find this very unattractive. The story telling seems to be lost by special effects/over the top set design, and the emotion of which Dragone is very famous for seems non-existent. What ever happened to set design/lighting supporting artists in telling their stories on stage rather than controlling the show all together?
