Favorite soundtrack?

Cirque has so many great show soundtracks - especially the earlier ones.

I'm curious, what are your guys's favorite Cirque soundtrack?
For me, it's gotta be KA with songs like Koudamare and Love Dance.

Now this is a tough question because for me what soundtracks I like to play depend on mood. My go-to's are "O", Varekai, Quidam, La Nouba, Mystere (both studio and live), ZED, and Luzia - and not necessarily in that order. I've chosen those because I can play them without skipping any tracks (or, at most, skipping one). But an absolute favorite? Wow. Hmm... okay, Mystere... but you all knew that... didn't you? :)

It has to be a toss up between Dralion and La Nouba. But like Richasi, my varying moods dictate a favorite on a particular day

Ka, Zed, and more and more often Luzia! But every soundtrack has its day at one time or another.

For me the song I love corolate to the acts I love because I can see them playing out in my mind when I listen. So as for a complete soundtrack it's which ever shows have the most of my favorite acts :P But the strength of Alegria's music stands out even if you don't know what the show looks like.

La Nouba, Corteo, Delirium, Ovo, Quidam, Totem, Saltimbanco, Immortal, Amaluna.

I'm torn between Quidam, Varekai, and O. Probably O because of the fact that the recording is so similar to the actual show, if Varekai's soundtrack wasn't one of those "inspired by" ones, and instead the recordings of how they play the songs live, it would probably be Varekai.

For me Mystere is the most perfect soundtrack. Its like a perfect combination of poetic/beautiful and high energy. I can listen to it all the way through again and again and never get tired of it. I feel the same way about most Rene Dupere and Benoit Jutras scores but Mystere still takes the cake.

Agreed 100% Cirqueish. Varkeai has a beautiful musical score that was inexplicably ruined on the album.

Since you said soundtrack I guess we're just talking CDs and not live music. In that case, I'd have to say Alegría as #1 and then Mystère, Nouvelle Expérience, Kà and Dralion.

I gotta say I actually really enjoy the newest soundtracks from 45 degrees like Viaggio (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQhTAJDv0Xo) and Reflekt (https://youtu.be/cDXu3M1b58s), they're not my favourites, but theyre surprisingly really good to listen to, especially considering its not the main brand. I have a mix of over 200 songs I just put on shuffle, but as a whole: O and Quidam are my calming ones whilst Totem and La Nouba is what I listen to for something more upbeat. Dralion is good for anything in between.

I was listening to Propel's top 30 video, and I could help but notice that the Corteo song Sette Ricordi (6:30 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7bF9Muklnq8) sounds remarkably like ZED's singer. At any stage did they share a singer, or is it just me?

Nope, Kevin Faraci's only Cirque work was with Zed. Too bad too, because he's phenomenal!

That Top 30 video was fun - I've overlooked some of them.

I listened to the ZED CD soundtrack and it sounded like a different singer to the one in the video. I had a look and I'm pretty sure the singer is Alain Labrie who left Corteo in September 2010 and took over Faraci's role in ZED from December 2010 until December 2011, before rejoining Corteo in May 2012 (courtesy of Richasi's webiste).

@Tracker, You are correct. It's Alain from 2015. ;)

As for Propel, someday I will convince him that Cyr Wheel isn't the only good song. :P

Alegria and La Nouba. I would add Varekai & Luzia, but their soundtrack versions are nothing like the live versions.

Cirque Shows Seen: Alegria, Amaluna, Kooza, Kurios (3), Luzia (2), Michael Jackson: Immortal, Quidam, Varekai
