The only reason I asked was because both were there, then the Hand Puppetry got removed, and now the Aerial Bicycle is gone.

Wow, an aerial straps act? They're really going all out with this one! And it looks like hand balancing too. Never seen that kind of act before.

But seriously, the juggling looks cool. I'm surprised that didn't make it into Kurios.

Apparently "Creature De Siam" is the music for Aerial Straps, so we're most likely only hearing the first bit of it before it goes into the aerial straps song maybe. Makes sense with the title, since the character who performs the act are Siamese twins, and thus "creatures of Siam". I believe Departure is the balloon portion of Hand Puppetry? I've heard conflicting opinions on Wat U No Wen. I've heard a couple people identify it as Aerial Bike. Can't be sure until the full track comes out.

The lyrics do show up, however they are used with a completely different melody then what we've heard on the track so far

Here's a clip of Kit Chatham drumming on I'm guessing the second half of Banquine (it's just the isolated drum track, so your guess is as good as mine)

Yes. One is primary (Diabolo) and the other is act-in-rotation (Hand-Balancing)

Is there a way to find out in advance when a rotational act will be included in a specific showing? I ask because Kurios is coming to Seattle soon and wanna go to a show that has everything. lol

Hand balancing, that can mean many things, how does it differ from the balancing on chairs act? Hand to hand or on canes? Also diabolo is actually traditional yo yo.

La Nouba, Corteo, Delirium, Ovo, Quidam, Totem, Saltimbanco, Immortal, Amaluna.

Rowelle - Unless you know someone on staff who is willing to tell you the day of, there's not much chance of knowing when an act-in-rotation will be on.

"Hand Balancing" in the cirque world means something very specific, though. It is quite literally balancing on one's hands or using just one's hands to balance. Contortion may be involved but not specifically so, which is why Contortion is it's own specific skill set. In Balancing on Chairs, the very name shows what makes it different - you're using a different apparatus to balance with or on: chairs. In the case of Balancing on Canes, you're using canes. Although I tend to agree that Cirque uses "Hand Balancing" and "Hand Balancing on Canes" interchangeably, I can forgive them since using canes is how the skill of hand balancing is traditionally performed.

The label "Juggling" might cover a wide range of types, but when you get right down to it though it's generally used to refer to juggling by hand. The other two types of juggling (by feet and juggling bodies) require different skill sets and therefore go by different names. Which is why you'd see juggling by feet labeled specifically as "Foot Juggling" or "Antipodism" and juggling a body as "Icarian Games".

Furthermore, you wouldn't interchange "Balancing on Chairs" with "Chair Balancing" because they mean two totally different things. The former we already discussed, but the later suggests you're balancing chairs specifically - perhaps on your chin (as Cirque showed us in Le Cirque Reinvente and earlier shows :) ).

"Hand-to-Hand" is also specifically defined; a demanding acrobatic discipline performed by two or more acrobats on the ground in which the carrier executes various moves involving strength, balance, elevation and flexibility by carrying the flyer on the hands, feet, or sometimes the head.

Just bought the album. It looks like:
11h11: The Opening where Klara, Microcosmos, and Nico appear to the Seeker. The train arriving.
Steampunk Telegram: The first minute or so of the song is when the Travelers come out of the train in the opening of the show. At about the two minute mark, the song becomes Aerial Bike for the remaining four minutes or so of the song.
Bella Donna Twist: Chaos Synchro 1900, AKA Juggling and Percussion.
Gravity Levitas: Russian Cradle
Monde Inverse: Upside down world and Balancing on Chairs
Hypnotique: Contortion on the mechanical hand.
Departure: A mixture. I believe some of it is part of the Hand Puppetry act. Then it includes the lovely intro into the Rola Bola act where the Aviator flies in on his plane with his assistant.
Fearsome Flight: Rola Bola.
Clouds: Acro net.
Creature De Siam: Aerial Straps
Wat U No Wen: Apparently a mix of the song that opens act 2, and it also contains part of The Banquine.
You Must Be Joking: Finale and Bows
If I'm not mistaken, all of the major acts are then represented on the CD in some way, except for Yo Yo considering it's a new act.
After listening through it...I honestly quite like this score. Not Cirque's best or anything, but it has some catchy tunes, some lovely instrumentation, the main singer has a very nice voice. From what I've heard, it's also fairly accurate to the live versions of the songs.

A nicely detailed, positive review of Kurios with an act by act breakdown
http://www.stage-door.com/Theatre/Current_Reviews/Entries/2014/9/1_Kurio...
Also, I found another review recently that was done in very late November that mentions Aerial Bike and Hand Puppetry, meaning they are both still in the show: http://ww2.kqed.org/arts/2014/11/25/cirque-du-soleil-goes-steampunk/

I just listened to the whole Kurios album. It is really excellent, very Fidel to the show. Eirini Tornesaki voice is beautiful and his accomplice dimension with spectator is found in the CD I find :)
My favorite songs are 11:11, Gravity Levitas and Hypnotic but ironically, the only fault I find in the album that's not including the intro song number of russian cradle duo and contortion.
In short, a very good album, Bob and Bill pure music, far superior to the soundtrack of Amaluna.

Saw Kurios last night and here's what was included in my show in order that it appeared:

- Chaos Synchro
- Russian Cradle Duo
- Invisible Circus
- Contortion
- Upside Down World
- Hand Balancing on Canes
** Intermission **
- Acro Net
- Clown Act
- Aerial Bike
- Yo-Yos
- Hand Puppetry
- Banquine

Extremely sad that Rola Bola and Aerial Straps weren't included in my show, but happy that an act I wasn't expecting, Hand Puppetry, was in. At first, I thought the Hand Puppetry act was going to be LAME AS, but it turned out to be probably my favorite of the whole show.

For those asking about Hand Balancing, it's Hand Balancing on Canes and takes place instead of the Rola Bola act. I'm not sure if it's the same performer as Rola Bola, but the hand balancing on canes takes place on the Rola Bola lift and uses the same music.

Also the Contortion act we got had three women instead of four, which is not that big of a deal to me.

I'm seeing the show again on the 17th of March. Hopefully it'll include Rola Bola and Aerial Straps. :)
