That seems so cool! I'm really excited, because I love these BTS documentaries.

Seriously, why on Earth do they have a spotter out of costume. He's wearing black but he's still so noticeable. It just looks so unprofessional if you ask me. I think this also happened during IRIS's Hand to Hand if I'm correct. Surely they can just get him into something which matches the colour scheme of the act.

It's B-roll footage so it may not have been filmed during a 'typical' show. Something like dress rehearsal.

La Nouba, Corteo, Delirium, Ovo, Quidam, Totem, Saltimbanco, Immortal, Amaluna.

I've seen audience footage where that uncostumed person appears too...

My guess is that it's something that they may have done early in the run (i.e. Montréal) for safety precautions (for some reason).

WOW, that is bad. Just give him a costume already.

I doubt that is permanent. If you look, he dances/matches the choreography of the other spotters, perhaps his costume is under maintenance or the actual spotter is injured and he is filling in. It is extremely un-cirque like!

That is weird but when i went to see amaluna here in Atlanta one of my shows the tech people ended up having to help the amazons and teeterboard guys move the reef like prop that lara comes out of when her act began so I mean ive seen it happen before but not actually someone really performing straight on stage.

During immortal for pole dance set up, the technicians work through a trap door in the stage and are visible standing up out of it and it's so poorly done. Definitely takes you out of the show.

The one thing I learnt from Immortal especially is that the more you pay for supposedly better seats, the worse view of the stage you get. I was in the section closest to the stage (section G according to this http://www.ticketsinventory.com/theatre/cirque-du-soleil-michael-jackson...) and I had to crane my neck constantly for any ariel parts of the show, and the stage was so high that I couldn't see much of the extension section, and I also couldn't see the main stage well because of the angle I was at... So I actually didn't notice the technicians Colton, maybe that is their strategy to hide the backstage crew from the highest paying audience members!

This video is of the tv promo Kurios did with CBS LA and it has the aviator doing hand balancing to fearsome flight. I know that this is an act in rotation but what exactly does that mean? Does it only replace role bola considering it has the same character, costume and music or is it a backup for anything? According to wiki only hand balancing is an act in rotation so Im not sure how this works.

It's a backup act that replaces Rola Bola. I've seen Kurios twice and this act was in both shows. I was disappointed because this act is a bit boring and comes right after hand balancing on chairs. After hand balancing on canes, my sister said to me, "If they do another balancing act, I'm gonna walk out."

He still comes out on the plane with the "Departure" music and he still uses the lift/swing apparatus in the show. I've mentioned before that it sucks because with this act, you can hear the music escalate and get more intense, and the whole time I'm thinking "This is the part when it gets good if this was Rola Bola."

Ok the above comment came seconds before mine when I asked a lot of questions it answered. Andrii does both acts in the show? He's the Chair performer typically.

There are two different artists for chairs and canes. At first I thought they were the same person, but I saw both of them (I remembered their costumes) at the end during curtain call.

Ok that makes sense. But does it have a different backup act if another act is out like juggling? I know totem for example has hand to hand which they use as a backup for any act rather than just replacing one act.

Hand puppetry used to be a backup act, but now I think it's a permanent part of the show.

Are you sure about that? It seems like a pretty integral part of the show. From when to when was it a backup?

I believe they have some sort of Chinese Pole, or did that temporarily replace an act?

Chinese Pole briefly filled in between the transition of two Russian Cradle duos.

I believe Hand Puppetry was a backup because when the show first started and toured for a bit, that act wasn't listed as one of the 9 on the website until much later, which is when I believe it then became a permanent act.

How is it integral? I'm guessing because fans, including myself, loved it so much, they decided to add it to the show permanently.

Maybe you're confusing hand puppetry with invisible circus?

I doubt that hand puppetry was ever a backup. It's integral to the show because it's unique to KURIOS and you can't find it in any other show. I saw the act both times I went to KURIOS in Toronto, and I know for sure it wasn't in for another act. I've also seen hand puppetry mentioned in nearly every review that I've read of KURIOS, even ones from the Montréal stop.

Hand Puppetry wasn't a backup act. It was in the show at premiere and after. It just wasn't listed as a primary act - probably I suspect because they didn't know if it would remain in the show.

From what i remember, it has always been a primary act, but was re-vamped and out for a couple of shows. I saw the premiere in Montreal (the opening night) and it was definitely there!

Good to know! It's one of my two favorite acts from the show! Aerial bike and yoyo? Zzz

Yoyos. I really love his makeup. Wish there was some way to emphasize more that the yoyos are supposed to be pocket watches, but they're such small visuals. http://youtu.be/LMa4fVfg_AQ

Did Cirque really book Yoyos for a promotional appearance? Should've done contortion. Maybe it was a last-minute booking and Yoyos was convenient with nothing to transport?

Yoyo just makes me crave a good diabolo act. Let's face it, they are very similar and at 0:18 for example, although the technical side of yoyo may be more difficult than diabolo, the visual is a lot less appealing!
