I think a diabolo act would've fit more nicely with Kurios. Yoyos is so small, they should've made it a backup act.

At least kudos to them for trying something new...

Having never seen anything of the yo yo act before this video, it was definitely impressive. I guess it's easier to appreciate up close when filmed rather than from the stage where the visuals are so much smaller. The performer has great stage presence, I like his costume, and the song is pretty good and fits. The act itself is really good and highly technical, but I can see the smallness of it being a problem.

I haven't seen the show yet, but is the yoyo artist BLACK? Cos I remember seeing him doing some special event work with cirque a while back...

Bit of a throw back to when the same girls were with Iris on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno!

And THAT is how you promote Kurios on TV. Why they went with Yoyos for that one appearance still makes me ask what the hell were they thinking?

I wish they would put back the Leno Zumanity Waterbowl performance on YouTube. That was beautiful.

The week before they sent out handbalancing on canes with the 'aviator'. They don't have that many portable acts for PR!

Golden Sun posted this video of yo-yo. But what interested me was the description, which said this is from the upcoming DVD, but they are currently working on the dvd cover. Once that is complete it should be coming out soon!

That yoyo video is interesting. Is that not shot in the GC? The backdrop at 0:08 doesn't have the usual set.

For the DVD I hope they have all four contortionists, all two of the aerial straps artists, and Rola Bola instead of hand balancing on canes.

It looks like a sheet covering the set... I don't recall ever seeing that happen in the show, but maybe it's a change that was added after the first week of Montreal.

I remember seeing it in Toronto. It comes off during aerial straps.

Japanese yo-yo artist "Black" has left the cast. On the bottom right of this picture is an identically dressed performer who's likely taking over the act. Not sure yet if its also a yo-yo artist or not. Fingers crossed for Diabolo... Anyone know?

I wonder if that's an old, old picture because Laprise is in that pic.

It's dated at four weeks. End of the LA run. I think he visited for the premier? Him and his replacement were likely in transition for that city.

Well if that wasn't BLACK I saw here in Atlanta on Friday then I the act is in good hands... Sure looked like him though.

The upload was four weeks ago, but the pic could still be old. If not, then I think it's cool Michel visits the show time to time.

The back up artist doesn't have the faux mustache on but I think if he did, the resemblance would be very close. Blacks Instagram activity has shown him in Japan the past few weeks, he attended Totem.

I really do hope it's Diabolo. The yo-yo act is just a snooze. I remember reading a Yelp review saying that when the yo-yo act is on, it's a good time to go to the bathroom. Lol

The artist who performed yo-yo (not diabolo, but yo-yo) on Friday night at 8:00pm had a faux stache, and looked just like BLACK does in this picture. So maybe he came back? I dunno. This was the first time seeing the act since it was not in at Premiere. Additionally, it was far from a snooze-fest! I was highly impressed considering I went in wondering just what an artist would do with a yo-yo that would make it Cirque-y. And by the reaction of the audience, they were impressed too. :)

Also, yes, Michel does visit the show from time to time. He was in the audience for my show. He was also there for the Atlanta premiere the night before.

$40 for the Kurios program? They must be out their damn minds!

Whoa... $40 is a bit much. I don't recall paying more than $25 for it on Friday night, but, then again, i really wasn't paying attention to the price since we also bought the aviator's cap, and goggles, and a magnet, and... ;)

Also, the TORUK program is a nice book, but, it really isn't going to tell you anything about the show. It's more about the Na'vi clans that you see IN the show, and pictures of items (props) that are associated with them. I was a bit disappointed in that, but it is a nice book... if you like the Na'vi and Pandoran history.

The "new" La Nouba book is odd. It's like they dumbed down the storyline for the masses...

@Richasi, so pretty much following suite with how Disney dumbs everything down for the masses. LOL

Kurios offers two different programs the standard program was 20 dollars and then there is a deluxe hard cover thick program for the 39 dollars. So there are two of them )

I must have gotten quite a discount then. Because the hardcover program book I got at the show rang up as $18.52 USD :)

I did notice they were giving the Tapis Rouge folks the older "book" but it was not on sale in Atlanta. Just the new Hardcover one.

Take a look at this video: Are these the same girls from Iris/Kurios? If not, then they ripped off a whole bunch of the moves. Not sure if this was prior to them joining Cirque, if it is indeed them.

The choreography is so identical it's honestly hard to tell them apart and I can't see their faces well enough to recognize any or not.

Pretty sure it's just an earlier version of their act. A few of the girls have throwback photos on Instagram to these costumes.
